And now a few words from our sponsors

Ok, maybe not our sponsors, but at least from our logo.

We're so happy about the way things are going with the development of our AdSymetrix product, we've decided to wear our hearts on our sleeves. Or at least our logos on our chests.

Stop by and visit the AdSymetrix Shop hosted by Cafe Press. We've got things for you, your friends and your dog.

Chugga Chugga Chugga

One of they key pieces of the AdSymetrix puzzle that has us all very excited is the development environment that our good friends at Biego are using to build our the application.

After a few fits and starts using PHP and ASP, we've moved on to developing in Ruby on Rails.

What's that you ask? Why develop something in what sounds like a title for an unsavory movie from the 1970s? Because programmer happiness and sustained productivity are good things.

Ruby on Rails is a software development environment originally created by David Hansson as a framework to assist in his programming, the project has grown in the open source community. The key idea here is simplicity. A series of components that allows a programmer to not repeat themselves and to use convention over configuration.

A programmer doesn't need to rewrite any code that is re-used inside the software being developed.

We're excited to have AdSymetrix based on Ruby on Rails. Our product should be as simple to use as it is to create. We will have a robust product that will help our clients better their business, and we'll do it using simple to express programming techniques.

Keep an eye out for the conductor, we'll be yelling "All Aboard" very soon.

Okay, so there has been a bit of a delay.

Launch was to be August 8, 2006 at 5:43:21 am, but it doesn't look like we are going to hit that deadline.  Things are looking really great, we just won't hit the deadline.  The app is coming along great and we have some features that are going to make this a very meaningful application.  The marketing site is coming along too, but it needs more work on the Joomla! template to get things just how we want them.  I would really rather everything was down on time, but you live and learn.  On my next application, I will definately not make some of the mistakes I made this time around.  More to come tomorrow after I fly to Seattle to have a meeting with the developers.
